| Archie was rescued (then called Sarge) from a kill shelter after it was made clear that he had no rescue interest and was going to be put to sleep any day. He was in the shelter for approximately 3-4 weeks due to his owner passing away. He was originally re-homed to family friends and was given away after 1 week. He is a very sweet, intelligent, and funny animal and loves everyone he meets. His quirks and looks are infinitely charming. An ideal family would have a fenced backyard and the financial accommodations for a dog behaviorist and high quality dog food, along with someone who isn't gone for more than 5-6 hours during the day. |
This dog requires lots of mental or physical stimulation as well as an active lifestyle to be happy. His intelligence and energy need to be channeled or he will create his own outlet for them. He can be very focused on a task but can be distracted with a little bit of effort. He likes some order and a fairly regular routine. He is no coward, but takes a moment to assess new people and places before rushing headlong in. A little bit of caution is a good thing! He is very affectionate and doesn't hesitate to show it with cuddles and licks. He likes to be close to you as much as possible. |
